Conclusion
Walk in the Oil
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
— Acts 10:38 (NKJV)
What We Have Covered
You have journeyed through one of the most critical and most misunderstood subjects in the body of Christ, the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
In Chapters 1 and 2, we established the foundation. You learned that the anointing is divine empowerment, the supernatural enablement of God upon a human being to accomplish what human ability alone cannot accomplish. You learned that this empowerment comes through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and that anointings are diverse. Not everyone carries the same anointing, because not everyone carries the same assignment. Solomon's anointing produced wisdom. Esther's anointing produced favour. David's anointing produced military victory. Your anointing is designed specifically for your assignment, and it is your responsibility to stay in your lane.
In Chapters 3 and 4, we confronted the most dangerous counterfeit operating in the church today, the spirit of divination. You learned how diviners operate, how familiar spirits gather information, and how even sincere believers can be deceived by prophetic accuracy that does not originate from God. You learned to discern true prophecy from divination by testing the source, the fruit, and the alignment with Scripture.
In Chapters 5 and 6, we examined the protective dimension of the anointing. You saw how God shields His servants from deception through real stories of pastors and businesspeople who were targeted but preserved. You also learned why servants of God face escalated opposition, not because something is wrong, but because everything is right. The more seriously you serve, the larger a target you become.
In Chapter 7, you learned exactly who the enemy targets around a ministry, the financial supporters, the worship team, the close associates, and the families of those in leadership. You now understand his strategies and can recognise his patterns.
In Chapters 8 and 9, I equipped you with the six daily practices that maintain the anointing: focus, consistency, endurance and resilience, determination, persuasion, and staying in your position. These are not religious extras. They are the pillars that hold the covering over your life.
And in Chapter 10, you received the capstone truth: when you are continually anointed, nothing the enemy sends can land on you. You are slippery with the oil of the Holy Spirit. Spells slide off. Curses bounce. Demons cannot grip. Yokes are destroyed. You are covered, empowered, and dangerous to the kingdom of darkness.
A Challenge
Before you close this book, I want to leave you with five challenges. These are not suggestions. They are assignments from your mentor.
1. Get Baptised with the Holy Spirit
If you have not yet received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, pursue it with everything in you. Do not attempt to serve God without the anointing. Jesus Himself told His disciples to wait for it before doing anything else. If they needed it, you need it.
2. Identify Your Specific Anointing
Stop trying to carry everyone else's assignment. Ask God to show you clearly what He has called you to do and what specific anointing He has given you to do it. Then stay in your lane, with zero apology and zero envy.
3. Guard Yourself Against Divination
Now that you know how diviners operate, take responsibility for your own protection. Test every prophetic word. Examine the fruit of every spiritual leader you submit to. Do not be impressed by accuracy alone, even demons can be accurate. Be impressed by alignment with Scripture, holiness of life, and fruit that remains.
4. Practise the Six Disciplines Daily
Do not read about focus, consistency, endurance, determination, persuasion, and position and then go back to the same unfocused, inconsistent, wavering patterns of before. Choose one practice this week that is your weakest and deliberately strengthen it. Then move to the next. Build the six pillars one by one until the roof of anointing is solid over your life.
5. Stay Where God Has Placed You
This may be the hardest challenge of all. In a culture that celebrates movement, change, and "fresh starts," I am telling you: stay where God stationed you. Do not let offence move you. Do not let boredom move you. Do not let carnality move you. Stay. The anointing is for the assignment, and the assignment is in the position. Leave the position, and the covering lifts.
A Blessing
May the God who anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power anoint you afresh today.
May the oil of the Holy Spirit cover every part of your life, your ministry, your family, your finances, your health, your relationships, and your calling.
May no spell land on you. May no curse alight. May no demon grip you. May every yoke upon your life be destroyed.
May your focus never shift, your consistency never waver, your endurance never fail, your determination never weaken, your persuasion never be stolen, and your position never change.
And when you come home to heaven, with a big crown of glory, may you hear the words that every soldier of Christ longs to hear:
"Welcome home, good and faithful servant."
