Part Two
Finding Your Place in God's Purpose
This Book Is a Continuation
This is Part Two of the teaching series How to Enter Your Place of Purpose by Apostle Charles Mutuku.
If you have not yet read Part One: The Foundations of Purpose, we encourage you to start there. However, even if you are beginning with this volume, the recap below will bring you fully up to speed on everything that was established.
What We Covered in Part One
In Part One, we laid the complete theological foundation for understanding divine purpose. Here is what we learned:
- The Crisis of the Untaught Church, The greatest problem in the body of Christ is not lack of prayer or fasting, but destruction caused by ignorance of God's principles. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.", Hosea 4:6. Many sincere believers apply the same formula, prayer and fasting, to every challenge, not realising that some things in God's kingdom operate by law, not by petition.
- What Purpose Really Is, Purpose does not begin with you. It begins with God identifying a need. That need determines purpose, purpose determines form, form determines location, and location determines release. You were not created and then assigned purpose. You were designed for a specific purpose before you were formed.
- The Four Dispensations of Purpose, God has arranged human history into four distinct phases:
1. The Original Purpose, Before the fall, man was placed in the Garden of Eden with full dominion over creation, unbroken fellowship with God, access to the Tree of Life, and every resource required to fulfil his assignment. There was no struggle, no sickness, no lack, and no confusion about identity or direction.
2. The Failed Purpose, When Adam obeyed the voice of the serpent rather than the voice of God, he forfeited his position. The consequence was exile from the garden, the introduction of toil, thorns, sickness, and death, and the loss of direct fellowship with God. Purpose did not end, but the environment changed dramatically.
3. The Intermediate Purpose, This is where we live today: between the fall and the full restoration. We carry two natures simultaneously, the Adamic nature inherited from the first man, and the redeemed nature received through Christ. This age is marked by spiritual access and physical limitation, by partial restoration and ongoing warfare.
4. The Restored Purpose, The coming age, when Christ returns, every curse is lifted, and original purpose is fully reinstated in glorified, immortal bodies. What Adam lost will be fully recovered. What was interrupted will be completed.
- The Two Natures, Every born-again believer today lives in the tension between Adam and Christ. Understanding this is not merely theological, it is practical. Some of your struggles are not spiritual attacks; they are the natural consequence of living in an Adamic body in a post-fall world. Recognising this prevents misplaced faith and misdiagnosed battles.
What Part Two Will Cover
Now we go deeper.
Part One answered the question: Where do we come from, where are we, and where are we going?
Part Two answers the question: How do I actually function in my God-given purpose, right now, in this present age?
We will explore:
- The Heart of God, What God truly desires from His relationship with you. It is not servitude, it is fellowship. Understanding this changes everything about how you approach your purpose.
- Your Divine Identity, Who you are in God's original design. Man was designed as a god in his own realm, carrying delegated divine authority. Most believers have never understood the weight of who they are.
- Location and Purpose, Why where you are placed matters as much as what you do. Purpose is not portable to just any environment. The right assignment in the wrong location produces nothing.
- The River System, How God provides for every purpose He assigns. The four rivers of Eden are not ancient geography, they are a pattern of divine supply that still operates today.
- The Danger of Anointing Without Direction, Why gifting without positioning leads to frustration. Many powerful people are doing the right things in the wrong places.
- Why Adam Was Cast Out, Understanding the real reason behind the exile. It was not only judgement, it was an act of divine mercy. Knowing this changes how you view your own setbacks.
- Position Over Formula, Why being in the right place matters more than having the right method. God rewards positioning, not just procedure.
- Serving God in Difficulty, How to fulfil purpose faithfully and fruitfully, even while living in the thorns and thistles of the intermediate age.
"And the LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it."
— Genesis 2:15
The key word is put. God did not suggest. God did not present options. God placed the man precisely where he needed to be to fulfil his purpose. That same God is working to place you precisely where you need to be.
Let us continue the journey.
